The programme for schools was developed out of a robust research base which highlights just how essential this learning can be in safeguarding children. NSPCCresearch estimates that approximately 1 in 20 children in the UK have been sexually abused, with 90% of this abuse being someone they know. The lessons are designed in an age-appropriate way, to support children to recognise abuse and seek help from safe adults.

The NSPCC ‘Talk PANTS’ campaign- now in its 10th year- was developed in consultation with children, parents, carers and teachers. The programme for schools helps to support children aged 3-11, including those with SEND, helping to tackle abuse by teaching pupils that their body belongs to them, how to identify parts of the body that are private, the importance of consent, and building confidence to speak out and get help.
