Mental Health & Well Being

There has been a lot of news recently about the need to support the mental health and well being of our children to try and avoid issues for them that can arise when they are older.

The link below takes you to the findings of the Government taskforce who researched this and found out why this is such an issue today.

Future in Mind: Children's Mental Health

Our PSHE curriculum looks to support children to stay healthy in body and mind. We look to promote healthy eating, raise awareness of substances that affect you, advise how to keep safe, look after money and identify positive relationships. We aim to provide opportunities through quality PE and extra curriculuar activities to promote staying active and fit - including recently added play areas to all three of our playgrounds.

But we also want to support you, our parents and carers, as the most important influence on our children at school. Hence the start of our Families at the Front room! Look out for events, activities, workshops arranged to support you! Come in and share a coffee to meet other parents and so help support each other. Help us help you help us! Working as a team with you is the best way we can support our children socially, emotionally as well as academically.

Mrs Brown (AHT), Mrs Bayliss (SENCo) and Mrs Gleeson (Pupil and Family Worker) are here to help and support you - do drop in (entry through the old school entrance at the front of the school) and talk with them.

  • The confidence to act on their concern and, if needed, signpost to services that can help.
