PE and Sport at Warstones
At Warstones, one of our core values is health and well being, with PE and sport being a major contributor to this. We believe taht children need to have access to a variety of physical activities in order to find ones that they can be passionate about.
During PE lessons, we teach activities such as dance, football, rugby, gymnastics, athletics, yoga and so much more. Our children also access Games lessons with specialist teachers from Soccer2000. In addition to this, we also offer a variety of extra-curricular activities and enter local scholl competitions and leagues, particularly football and netball.
As well as PE lessons and extra-curricular activities, we have also invested in our play areas, making them as active and as exciting as possible. This includes a play area with a class sized sand pit, mud litchen and water area in Early Years as well as many bikes and scooters for the children to enjoy gross motor activities and balance.
In Key Stage One, we have our large climbing apparatus as well as sporting equipment for children to access. In Key Stage 2 we have a large climbing area with challenging aspects, trim trail and outdoor gym that children can access at play and lunchtimes. We have also added pemanent goals and basket-ball hoops have been added.
